Terms of Service
Last updated: 8/7/2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By purchasing a LocalTap product or using a LocalTap hub page, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not purchase from or use LocalTap.
2. What LocalTap sells
LocalTap sells individual commercial NFC hardware (Review Block, Hub Card, and Wi‑Fi Tap Card). LocalTap Business is a recurring managed hub software/service charged per physical business location ($9/month or $90/year). Review Blocks and Hub Cards require an active LocalTap Business plan for that location; one plan covers all eligible devices at the same location. Wi‑Fi Tap Cards are standalone one-time purchases and do not require LocalTap Business. Founding supporter purchases made in person may follow a different, separately agreed arrangement and are not the standard public website offer.
3. Orders and payment
- Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice for future orders.
- Payment is processed securely by Stripe at the time of order.
- Before you pay for Review Blocks or Hub Cards, LocalTap discloses that LocalTap Business is required at $9/month or $90/year per business location and renews automatically until canceled. You can manage or cancel in the Stripe Customer Portal.
- You are responsible for providing accurate business information, shipping address, and destination links at checkout.
- LocalTap reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order, including for suspected fraud or misuse.
4. Hub setup and update policy
Initial setup of your hub page is included with every order. You receive one complimentary correction or update request within 14 days of purchase. After that period, hub link updates are $9 per Hub ID per request, and a single request may bundle multiple link changes. Errors or technical issues caused by LocalTap are always corrected at no charge, regardless of when they are reported.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use LocalTap hardware or hub pages to:
- Link to illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or infringing content.
- Impersonate another business or person.
- Submit Wi-Fi credentials for anything other than a dedicated guest network (never an administrator or employee-only network).
- Attempt to manipulate, incentivize, filter, or gate reviews in a way that violates Google's policies or the FTC's rules on reviews and testimonials (see Section 6).
6. Reviews and Google disclaimer
LocalTap's review products simply open the standard, publicly available review-writing page for your business. LocalTap does not screen, filter, or route customers based on predicted sentiment, does not offer incentives conditioned on leaving a positive review, and does not guarantee that any particular number, rating, or outcome of reviews will result from using a LocalTap product.
LocalTap is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC. "Google" and "Google Reviews" are used here only to describe the destination a hub page may link to.
7. Intellectual property
The LocalTap name, logo, hub page software, and website content are owned by LocalTap and may not be copied, reverse-engineered, or resold without permission. You retain all rights to your own business name, logo, and the destination links you provide.
8. Warranty and returns
Hardware warranty and return eligibility are described in our Returns & Warranty policy.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Except as expressly stated in our Returns & Warranty policy, LocalTap products and hub pages are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalTap's total liability for any claim arising from your purchase or use of a LocalTap product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. LocalTap is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost business or lost reviews.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of a LocalTap hub page after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
